About Gina…
Gina Lucas is a wife and mother of two, residing in Greensboro (and Surf City), NC. Gina grew up in Eastern North Carolina, and received a BS in Interior Design from East Carolina University. She creates out of her home studio in Greensboro, and is heavily influenced by her time spent at the North Carolina coast, as well as the 8 years she spent working as a floral designer.
Gina is a self-taught artist who comes from a long line of creative genes. She developed a love of art and creative expression at a very young age but did not discover her passion for painting until recently. While going through treatment for Breast Cancer in 2022, Gina began painting daily as a means of coping with stress and anxiety. Since that time, painting has become a constant in her life, and has turned into a full time career that she loves.
Gina paints with acrylics and pastels on canvas and paper, and has recently been experimenting with watercolors. Subjects include florals, landscapes, and abstracts. She enjoys painting expressionistically with bold colors, and finds interest in the contrast between abstract and realism.
When she’s not creating, Gina enjoys reading, playing tennis, and spending time at the beach.
“If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint’, then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.”
